Somchai Rungrot

Khon Kaen · Document Sorting Workshop

I had been putting off dealing with my parents' paperwork for about three years. After the workshop, I left with a labelled system that actually made sense. My wife and I spent the following weekend finishing the job at home. The templates were the part I did not expect to find useful, and they turned out to be the most useful thing I took away.

Mahasarakham · Inheritance FAQ Pack

I had a lot of questions after my father passed and did not know where to begin. The FAQ pack answered many of them clearly and told me honestly which questions I needed to take to a lawyer instead. I appreciated that — I had wasted time on the internet before this and been confused rather than helped.

Khon Kaen · Family Legacy Workshop

This programme was something I did for my children, though I ended up finding it meaningful for myself too. Having structured prompts made it easier than I expected. I had tried to write things down before and kept stopping because I did not know where to start. The sessions gave me a frame to work within.

Roi Et · Document Sorting Workshop

The facilitator was patient and the session did not feel rushed. There were eight of us, and questions were dealt with properly. I did find the day quite long by the end, but that was probably inevitable given how much was covered. Worth it. I drove from Roi Et and would do so again.

Khon Kaen · Family Legacy Workshop

I attended with my mother, who is 73. She was hesitant before the first session and quite engaged by the second. The facilitators handled the pace well. We now have a small book that covers her life from her childhood in Udon through to last year. That will matter to our family for a long time.

Khon Kaen (expat) · Inheritance FAQ Pack

As someone who has lived in Thailand for many years, I was aware I did not fully understand the local rules around property and succession. The pack explained things clearly in English and pointed me to the right contacts rather than trying to advise me directly. That honesty about scope was the most reassuring part.

Case Studies

Three journeys, in more detail

A retired teacher from Khon Kaen — Document Sorting Workshop

Challenge

A 67-year-old retired teacher had accumulated decades of documents — land papers, old bank statements, insurance documents, and family records — across three separate folders and several plastic bags. She knew some of it mattered but could not identify what, or what to do with any of it.

Process

She attended the full-day Document Sorting Workshop. The session covered document categories, filing logic, and what to do with documents that have unclear relevance. She used the template to sort her materials during the session and identified three documents she had not realised she needed to locate.

Outcome

By the end of the workshop, 80% of her documents were categorised. She completed the remaining 20% at home the following week. She subsequently contacted us to ask which type of professional to see about the land papers — we pointed her toward a local notary and she followed up independently.

"I did not expect to feel so much lighter after a day of paperwork."

An adult child managing a parent's estate — Inheritance FAQ Pack

Challenge

A 44-year-old man whose mother had recently passed did not know where to begin with the estate. He had never dealt with anything like it before and was uncertain which government offices were involved, what timelines applied, and what decisions were legally his to make.

Process

He purchased the Inheritance FAQ Learning Pack and worked through it over three evenings. He used the resource directory to identify the relevant official sources and then contacted a lawyer from the recommended professional category list included in the pack.

Outcome

He arrived at his first legal appointment with a clear set of questions and a basic understanding of the process, which his lawyer noted made the consultation more productive. He completed the formal estate administration within the normal expected timeframe.

"I went from not knowing what questions to ask to being able to have a proper conversation."

A family recording a grandmother's story — Family Legacy Workshop

Challenge

Two adult daughters wanted to record their 78-year-old mother's life story before memories faded further. Previous attempts at home had stalled because they did not know what questions to ask, and their mother found open-ended prompts difficult to engage with.

Process

All three attended the multi-session Family Legacy Workshop together. The structured prompts gave their mother a clear starting point for each session. The pacing across multiple weeks meant she could add details she remembered between meetings, which she did regularly.

Outcome

The programme produced a 34-page keepsake document covering childhood, family history, values, and messages for grandchildren. The daughters described the process itself — the time spent together — as equally valuable to the finished document.

"We were not just recording things. We were spending proper time with her."
